Shanhai Pithy Restaurant: A Harmonious Blend of Nature and Modernity

Xiaohui Chen and Jingwei Zhou's Award-Winning Design: A Poetic Dining Experience

The design of Shanhai Pithy Restaurant is inspired by the owner's desire to create a dining space that is different from traditional restaurant designs. The designers have successfully combined the geographical environment, history, and humanities to extract elements that align with the brand image and positioning. The result is a space that exudes local cultural charm.

What sets this restaurant apart is its poetic space, created using smooth line modeling that echoes the outdoor natural landscape. The flowing artistic atmosphere enables the restaurant to blend elegantly both inside and out, offering a delicate dining experience to its patrons. The main materials used in this project are wave stainless steel plate, black wood marble, and jade sand glass, which contribute to the unique rhythmic aesthetic of the space.

The restaurant's modern geometric sense of line fuses excellent space furnishings, and a unique aesthetic way highlights the rhythm of space, creating a rich visual level of aesthetic feeling. The front hall uses interactive projection equipment to create a water-sky visual experience, and the reception desk with original stone carving creates a kind of rough and simple atmosphere. At the end of the aisle, prismatic glass pillars arranged vertically give the space a changeable temperament.

One of the challenges faced in this design was finding an effective way to integrate the indoor and outdoor scenery into each other, to achieve a harmonious coexistence between people and the environment. However, the designers have successfully overcome this challenge, creating a space where nature and city coexist in harmony.

The Shanhai Pithy Restaurant design project was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is a testament to the designers' strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
